The ideal candidate should have an eye for identifying key pain point areas and proposing multiple User flows to accomplish a task.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Design software the will accelerate internal employee efficiency, understanding, and capabilities with products that range across a variety of departments including fleet management, operations management, and more.
● Work on mobile native, responsive web, and in-store digital experiences.
● Understand product specifications and user psychology
● Conduct usability testing and gather feedback for multiple user flows to access user experience.
● Work with developers to ensure the application is developed as per your designs.
● Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success.
● Develop wire-frames and prototypes around customer needs, goals and opportunities.
● Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability)
● Develop strong knowledge of how Matter’s brand applies to layout, color theory, typography, language and iconography for digital products. And work with Matter’s Design System.
● Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers through clear annotations and handoffs.
● Design the aesthetics to be implemented within a product, from the layout menus and drop-down options to colors and fonts.
● Account for and track the human-computer interaction (HCI) element of a design.
● Be a great team player, experienced in working with agile teams. Ability to collaborate closely with developers, copywriters and UX designers.
● Create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate your interaction ideas using any of these methods.
● Present and defend your design decisions. All your design decisions should be based on the overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles (i.e. color theory, visual weight, etc.)
● Continually keep yourself and your design team updated with the latest changes in your industry’s standards.
● Collaborate with other designers in your team and with other digital experience teams (User Research, In-Vehicle UX/UI, Mobile UX/UI, Digital Commerce UX/UI, Brand, Communications) to create solutions.
● Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
● Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
● Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Proficient with visual design and rapid prototyping tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, InVision, Figma.
Experience creating storyboards and site mapping.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple milestones and projects efficiently through documentation and a structured approach.
Hands-on experience creating wire frames, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc.
Understanding of basic front-end languages to communicate effectively with developers.
Experience implementing visual design systems across a range of platforms in an iterative product design process
Experience working in an agile/scrum development process.
Be open to receiving objective criticism and improving upon it.
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture.
You will be able to make deliberate design decisions and to translate any given user-experience journey into a smooth and intuitive interaction.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Demonstrated experience in creating and implementing enterprise-level applications
● Degree in Design, Information Technology, or equivalent.
